Hans Sholten is the winner of the “Best Paper Award” of the Tenth International Conference on Networks, ICN 2011. The title of the awarded paper is “Opportunistic Sensing in Wireless Sensor Networks”, in which Pascal Bakker, a former MSc student of PS is co-author.

Presentation to a delegation of Shell company

Strategic Research and Technology Agenda of IIP Sensor Networks 
PS in co-operation with Sensor Universe published the Strategic Research and Technology Agenda of the ICT Innovation Platform Sensor Networks (IIP Sensor Networks). In this book future directions of sensor networks are discussed. More information can be found at:

Go-Green presentation in the Gouden Driehoek conference 
On 18 March during the Gouden Driehoek conference, Paul Havinga gave a presentation entitled "Context aware smart energy systems for green houses". The main theme of the conference, organized jointly by the Domotica Platform and the AgentschapNL, was conceptual design of green networks used in health-care and household applications.

GENESI workshop with end users 
On 11 March, GENESI organized a workshop and brain storming session with end users in the area of structural health monitoring. Interactive sessions with end users from UK, Italy, and the Netherlands in the areas of dike monitoring, rail monitoring, and environmental monitoring shed light on user requirements and quality of service and information.
